Several viral videos of the incidents have gone viral on the social media platforms.

Violent clashes have erupted between student groups in Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek, with reports of attackers using batons. The attackers forcefully entered the hostel rooms and wounded several international students including Pakistanis, reported ARY News.

The violence reportedly erupted due to a harassment incident involving Egyptian female students on May 13, the Pakistan news channel reported.

Pakistan’s embassy in Kyrgyzstan directed its nationals to stay indoors amid the recent violence in the city.

Pakistan’s ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hasan Zaigham wrote on X: "IN VIEW OF MOB VIOLENCE AROUND STUDENT HOSTELS IN BISHKEK, THE EMBASSY STONGLY ADVISE ALL PAKISTANI STUDENTS IN BISHKEK TO STAY INDOORS UNTIL THE SITUATION RETURN TO NORMAL. WE ARE LIAISING WITH THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES TO ENSURE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENT FRATERNITY."

The Pakistani government confirmed none of its nationals died in the mob violence.

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif said he was deeply concerned over the recent developments in the city.

"Deeply concerned over the situation of Pakistani students in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. I have directed Pakistan's Ambassador to provide all necessary help and assistance. My office is also in touch with the Embassy and constantly monitoring the situation," he posted on X
