Goodwill gesture: India warns Pakistan over Jammu and Kashmir floods amid deteriorated bond
India extended on Sunday and alerted Pakistan about the flood situation in Tawi River in Jammu, a goodwill gesture shown by New Delhi amid heightened tension between the neighbouring nations following the Pahalgam terror attack.

India has contacted Pakistan under the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) to share advance information about possible flooding, official sources told The News International.
The Indian High Commission in Islamabad conveyed the alert, with the communication made on the morning of Sunday, August 24, sources told the newspaper.
The report has not been officially confirmed by India or Pakistan.
However, if the claims made by the Pakistani newspaper are true, then it is the first time India used its diplomatic mission to share such information with Pakistan.
Following the alert, Pakistani authorities issued warnings based on the information provided by India, the sources told the newspaper.
Pakistan recently urged India to resume the normal functioning of the Indus Waters Treaty.
India has held the water in abeyance since May, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 tourists killed.
