Allegations of physical assault on a minor student at a Madrasa in Tripura's Unakoti district have sparked concern after the student's father lodged a police complaint against a teacher, locally referred to as the "Chhoto Huzur."

The incident reportedly took place at Fulbarikandi Hafizia Madrasa in Barkhala village under Fulbarikandi Gram Panchayat of Gournagar RD Block in Kailashahar.

According to the complaint filed at Kailashahar police station by the student's father, Monaf Ali, the minor was allegedly beaten severely for failing to answer a question during class-six. The family claimed that the assault left visible injury marks on the child's hands and legs.

The father further alleged that his son had been subjected to physical punishment on several occasions over an extended period. After learning about the latest incident, he visited the Madrasa to seek an explanation regarding the alleged assault on his son. However, he claimed that he was treated disrespectfully by those present at the institution.

Although the Madrasa authorities reportedly assured the family that the matter would be resolved through discussion, no settlement was reached, prompting Monaf Ali to file a written complaint at Kailashahar police station on Sunday evening.

Speaking to the media, the student's father said that disciplining a child for poor academic performance is one thing, but subjecting a minor to inhuman physical assault in the name of education is completely unacceptable. He demanded a fair investigation and strict legal action against those found responsible.

Meanwhile, allegations have also surfaced that certain individuals attempted to pressure people into removing photographs and posts related to the incident from social media after the matter gained public attention. The claims have raised concerns over whether attempts are being made to suppress allegations of physical abuse of students within educational institutions.

The incident has triggered calls for an impartial investigation to establish the facts and ensure the safety and well-being of students. Corporal punishment and physical abuse of minors are viewed as serious allegations requiring thorough investigation.

However, the version of the accused teacher or the Madrasa authorities was not available at the time of filing this report. The authenticity of the allegations and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident will become clear following the police investigation.
